A Much Needed Reminder

Hello All,

I had to share this with my AOH family. At nearly 18 months out, I still have days I struggle with the woulda, coulda, shoulda’s and self-doubt. My dad’s dear friend sent this to me, and I shared it with a few here already. I realize that many of us need to read and hear this because we do deserve healing and peace. The best that we can find in this situation anyway. Sending strength and understanding hugs to all. You are not alone, we comfort each other. ❤️

Maybe you lost someone you never expected to lose. Maybe you lost yourself and that’s even worse. When you have those bad days that just won’t give up, I hope you will look in the mirror and remind yourself of what you are and what you are not. You are not your mistakes. You are not damaged goods or muddy from failed explorations. You are not the opinion of someone who doesn’t know you. You are a product of the lessons you’ve learned. You are wiser because you went through something terrible. And you are the person who survived a bunch of thunderstorms and kept on walking.~Unknown
