About Heidi Botterill
Heidi Botterill was a beloved member of the Alliance of Hope community. She made a difference for thousands who read her words or met her in her roles as an Alliance of Hope Senior Moderator and Support Group Leader for survivors of suicide loss. Heidi lost her long-time love and partner to suicide in 2012. She found and joined the Alliance of Hope 18 months later, discovering a lifeline among those who understood the dark and difficult path she had to navigate.
With time and healing, Heidi began to offer her thoughts and a shoulder to lean on for others walking the same path, becoming an invaluable source of support and understanding. Heidi told us that the experience of loss changed her and her life irrevocably; once a survivor, she became a champion for those forced to navigate their own journeys through grief.
Heidi passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on April 6, 2025. Her death leaves a profound void in the hearts of her Alliance of Hope friends and all who knew and loved her. She was a bright star, a transformed soul, and an enormous spirit who shared her insights and love, empowering others and serving as an inspiring role model. We will deeply miss her smile, her wisdom, her friendship, and the light she brought into our lives.
