In Remembrance of Steven
1995 - 2024My son, Steven, took his own life at the age of 29. He was battling depression and alcohol addiction. Heartbreak from his recent divorce pushed him over the edge. Steven was in weekly counseling, but eventually, as he said in the note he left, he could not keep living in his head that way.
Steven was a loving son, dedicated employee, talented musician, and creative photographer. Steven loved his 2 little girls more than anything in the world - even more than the 49ers. Steven graduated from UNR in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in art and a minor in photography. Steven could play a dozen instruments and went on to teach local drumlines. Steven loved taking photos, especially of abandoned buildings.
Steven left behind his mom, 2 daughters, 2 brothers, 2 neices, his stepfather and stepsister, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steven had a perfect smile and an infectious laugh. He was a fun guy to be around. He had several close friends. He is dearly missed by those who were lucky to know him well.
I am devastated by the loss of my son. I cannot describe the void in my life.
