In Remembrance of Matthew

1980 - 2024

To my beautiful man. You were my world. I loved you since the day I met you and more each day for our six years. I am so sorry for everything you carried with you over the years before me and while with me. I am so proud of how you overcame every trial before your passing. I’m so proud of every accomplishment you achieved. I am so proud to be the one who got to love you last. I am even prouder that you chose me, to give every bit of your last love to. I will never understand why this happened to you and me and your family. I will never understand why God allowed this evil to happen. I will love you till my last breath. I will remember you till my mind no longer thinks. I will tell everyone I come to know about you. Your life and your story. I will use this pain and new found understanding to see people differently and try to extend a hand when I can.

A vast empty space exists in me that will never be repaired or mended. I will save this place for you. And I pray I see you again in heaven where I will be able to hold you for eternity.

Tenacity: Unshakeable focus and drive in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. Persistent forward momentum with a well thought out plan of action, to never stop trying to achieve a goal even well all seems lost.
