In Remembrance of Alexander Heins

2002 - 2018

What an amazing young man you were Alex.  From the guitar that you so diligently learned to play to the music that you blasted so loudly that we were sure our eardrums would burst.  You were so intelligent with a wide open future ahead of you, the child that we never had to worry about in school because you always worked so hard to maintain such good grades with minimal nudging on our behalves.  You were wise beyond your years and sometimes said things that made me think you were a grown adult instead of a 15 year old boy.  I loved that you loved the same movies that I did and that you had a soft spot for anything made in the 80s.  You truly had the best taste in movies and in music and I could always count on you to find something interesting.  And your sly sense of humor was so much like my own, full of sarcasm and subtlety.

You were a true mix of us.  You had your father’s looks and quiet demeanor, even your mannerisms were the same, to the point where we deemed you your father’s clone.  But you had my sarcasm and my eyebrows and of course, shared interest in video games.

We miss you so much Alex.  I hope that you know how much we love you, how much you meant to all of us, your family and friends.  Even though you are no longer with us physically you will always be in our hearts and minds.
