In Remembrance of David “Dave” Facion, Jr.
1979 - 2023Depression is like a cancer that eats away at the people it takes. My wonderful, amazing, kind, and funny husband lost his battle with this horrible disease. He was my best friend, my lover, my everything, and the rock I leaned on. Together we have 4 beautiful children who adore and miss him. He was an amazing father. He could lean back, and with a twinkle in his eye, make the whole room erupt in laughter with one quick retort. He had the most beautiful brown eyes and the longest eye lashes. It wasn't often you could meet a half black, half white man who was covered in freckles and had red hair but there he was! I told him every day how much I loved him, appreciated him, and adored him. But he couldn't hear it, he couldn't believe it. He had finally found his happiness and all the things he had always wanted and truly believed he didn't deserve it and wasn't good enough for it. He was. He was our everything. He was loved, his life matters. He was a son, a nephew, a father, a friend, and a husband. As long as there is breath in my body I will keep him alive in me. I love you Dave, you are still my person.
When tomorrow starts without me
And I’m not here to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for meI wish you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today
While thinking of the many things
We did not get to sayI know how much you love me
- David Romano
As much as I love you
Each time that you think of me
I know you will miss me too
